Publishing turns the screens in a project into a real, hosted website with HTTPS.

Steps#

  1. Open the project and click Publish.
  2. Pick which screens become pages, and set the home page. Screens you leave out stay in the project but aren't part of the site.
  3. Choose a subdomain. You'll get your-name.uxmagic.io. Availability is checked as you type. See Subdomains and URLs.
  4. Run the preflight check. It flags problems that would make a bad live site — missing links, empty pages, placeholder content.
  5. Publish. The build runs in the background; you'll get the live URL when it finishes.

What you get#

  • A hosted site on *.uxmagic.io with automatic HTTPS.
  • A per-deployment preview URL, so you can review a build before pointing anyone at it.
  • Deployment history with one-click rollback.

Paid-plan features#

  • Removing the UX Magic badge requires a paid plan.
  • Private and password-protected sites require a paid plan.
  • Published-site limits vary by plan — see Plans and limits.

Updating a published site#

Editing screens does not change the live site. Publish again to deploy your changes. See Redeploy and rollback.

Your own domain#

Published sites can move to your own domain — see Custom domains.

Frequently asked

Is hosting included?
Yes. Published sites are hosted by UXMagic on a uxmagic.io subdomain, with HTTPS, at no extra cost beyond your plan.
Can I publish on the Free plan?
Yes, within your plan’s published-site limit. Removing the UX Magic badge and password-protecting a site require a paid plan.
