Every AI change makes a new version. How to compare, restore and keep variants.

How versioning works#

Each AI change to a screen creates a new version rather than overwriting the previous one. The screen on the canvas shows the active version; earlier ones stay available.

This means you can experiment freely. If a direction doesn't work, go back a version.

Switching versions#

Open a screen's version list, pick a version, and the canvas updates. Switching is instant and free.

Variants#

Versions double as variants: ask for two treatments of the same screen and keep both, switching between them for a review.

Undo vs versions#

  • ⌘Z / Ctrl+Z — undoes canvas actions (moving, deleting, direct edits).
  • Versions — step back through AI-generated states of a screen.

They are separate systems. Undo will not walk you back through AI generations.

If a change seems to disappear#

If a version you selected reverts when you click away, that's a bug, not a feature — see My changes reverted.

Duplicating instead#

If you want to explore a direction without touching the original, duplicate the screen first and experiment on the copy.
