Clone a website from a URL

Capture a real, public web page and rebuild it as an editable UXMagic screen.

Paste a URL and UXMagic captures the live page — real layout, sections, colours, fonts and image assets — then rebuilds it as an editable screen and derives a matching theme.

Steps#

  1. Paste the full URL, including https://, into the prompt box.
  2. Say what you want: a straight clone, or a clone restyled to your brand.
  3. Wait. Cloning is heavier than a normal generation — it loads the real page before any design work starts.

What comes back#

  • The page's section structure, in order.
  • Its colours and fonts, captured into a project theme.
  • Its images, copied into your project's asset library.
  • Everything editable — this is a real screen, not a screenshot.

Partial clones#

Very long or very complex pages sometimes come back with some sections rebuilt and others left on the canvas as labelled placeholders. That is deliberate: a partial page with honest gaps beats a page with silently missing sections.

To finish it, ask the AI to complete the clone. It re-captures the original and rebuilds only the missing sections, at a fraction of the cost of a fresh clone. See My clone came out blank or partial.

What won't clone#

  • Pages requiring a login.
  • Pages behind bot protection (Cloudflare challenges and similar).
  • Content that only exists after user interaction — a menu that opens on click, a modal, a carousel's later slides.
  • Video and animation — captured as a still.

Cost#

Cloning is the most credit-intensive single action in UXMagic, because it runs a real browser against the target page before designing. Finishing a partial clone costs far less. See How credits work.

Frequently asked

Can I clone any website?
Any public page. Pages behind a login, a paywall or aggressive bot protection cannot be captured.
Is cloning a site legal?
Use it for structure, layout research and as a starting point for your own work. Copying a site’s branding, copy and imagery wholesale for a live product is a legal problem regardless of the tool used.
